Commission information
If you would like a custom painting of
your pet, or any other subject, please contact
me for a commission! Custom paintings make the perfect
gift for friends and family.
I can work in a variety of media
(watercolour, coloured pencil, markers, and digital). I can
draw a variety of subjects and my particular speciality is
animals. Please email me to be sent a pdf document
containing current estimates for pet portraits and custom ACEO
commissions. If you would like anything else please contact me
for an estimate.
Watercolour Pet Portraits All
previous commissioners have been delighted with my work and
have been pleased with the likeness. If you are unsure about
the quality of the reference photographs, please contact me.
For examples of previous pet portrait commissions, see here
I will require several good photographs
of your pet from different angles that show their markings and
characteristics clearly. I tend to compose several photographs
to make the final picture rather than copy from one
photograph, as I believe that this captures the animal much
better. If you have a particularly good photograph, I may
reference this more heavily. I would prefer
scanned/digital images sent by email as this will allow me to
begin work sooner. For international customers,
scanned/digital images are essential. For UK customers, you
may send photographs in the post, and I will return them with
the commission when it is posted to you.
The price varies with complexity, number
of subjects, detail, background and size of paper.
Sizes available
are: 6x4 inches, 5x7”, 6x8”, 7x10”, 8x12”,
10x14”, 12x16” for Winsor and Newton Cotman cold-pressed or

acid free) A5 or A4 for Winsor and Newton Artist's

ACEO
commissions ACEO stands for “Art
Cards, Editions and Originals”. These collectable cards are
2.5”x3.5”. To learn more about ACEOs, please visit
art-cards.org
I can make ACEOs
in three media currently: Watercolour, coloured pencil and
markers. Price depends on complexity and detail of both the
subject and the background, as well as the media.
Payment UK
customers may pay via PayPal, Google checkout, cheque, bank
transfer or postal order. For International customers,
PayPal or Google Checkout is essential. When using cheque
or postal order, please be aware that these will take longer
to clear before I am able to send
the work out for you.
For
commissions that value more than £40, I will require a 20%
deposit before beginning work. I will only post the artwork
once payment is completed in full.
Buyer pays
for all postage and packaging costs. These will be estimated,
depending on the size of the artwork, before the final bill is
sent. I can offer a range of postal services with insurance
and delivery confirmation of requested.
Terms and
Conditions for all commission
work:
-
Work will commence as soon
as the client is satisfied with all aspects of the
commission and has provided reference photographs. It will
take approximately one to two weeks to complete the painting
after work has started, but I cannot be held responsible for
delays out of my control. I am a full time student, so
coursework deadlines are high priority. I will, however,
advise you if I anticipate any delays.
-
Progress of the piece at
various stages will be communicated via email, so that you
may assess and suggest improvements on the work in
progress.
-
Once completed, I will
require full payment before posting.
-
Buyer pays for all postage
and packaging costs. I suggest that a service with insurance
is used for more valuable commissions e.g. Royal Mail
Special Delivery or Airsure for International orders.
Standard postage does not include insurance. I can obtain
proof of postage on request.
-
If you are not
satisfied with the painting when you receive it, I will
accept returns within seven days of receipt and refund the
value of the item. Shipping charges are non
refundable.
-
I, the artist, retain full copyright
and reproduction rights. In the unlikely event that I wish
to sell prints, I will contact you asking for your approval.
-
Highly
detailed work is more expensive as it requires more time to
render. I have the right to
turn down any commission request depending on subject and
workload.
